Gift Bingo

Make bingo cards, but do not fill in the spaces. Let the guests fill in the spaces with what they think the bride will receive as gifts. As she opens her gifts the guests play. Whoever fills a row up first wins.

Embarrass the Bride Games

Bride on the spot

Before the bridal shower ask the groom a lot of questions about their relationship. Such as, “When did you start dating?, When was your first kiss?, What do you like best about her?, What does she like best about you?, etc.” You can either write the answers down, tape the answers or video-tape the answers. Video taping is really fun b/c you can watch the groom’s face. Then at the shower, ask the bride the same questions. For each question she answers wrong have her put a piece of bubble gum or marshmallow in her mouth. It’s really funny to watch the bride try to answer with her mouth full of bubble gum.

Who’s leg is Who’s

Blindfold the Bride, bring in the Groom and 3-4 other guys. Have each guy roll up one pant-leg to the knee. Now the bride must figure out which leg belongs to her fiancé! Once she has decided on a leg, take the blindfold off and let her see her choice.

Slide Show

Put together a slide show of just the bride or the bride and groom from growing up years to the present. Put music to the pictures to add to the mood. To make it more funny- have someone comment on the slide show.

Who’s my man?!

Blindfold the Bride, bring in the Groom and 3 other guys. Put a sheet in front of the guys faces that has been previously cut to just show their noses, mouths and hands. Let the Bride try to figure out which one is her man. When she has decided, have her kiss the nose of “her man.” Then drop the sheet to see if chose correctly. To add a twist, have the guys mix themselves up during the game or have the groom leave and bring in another guy. This confuses the bride like nothing else!

Cake Surprise!

Make a large flat cake but cut it down the middle. Place it on two flat cookie sheets or cardboard. Have the two cookie sheets meet at the same spot you cut the cake down the middle. Place the cookie sheets and cake on a table with a whole big enough for a person to come up through. If you don’t have a table with a hole (don’t worry- most people don’t ) you can use a large cardboard box and make sure to cover the box with a large table cloth. Another idea is to use two cardboard tables. Have the tables meet at the same point the cookie sheets meet and the cake is cut. Have the person (the Groom or a good friend of his) come up through the cake (fully clothed) and yell surprise or something similar. *If you use two cardboard table, make sure not to throw the tables at anyone. That spoils the fun.

Tribute

Write a tribute to the bride and groom that can be given as a little speech at the bridal shower. Have this tribute include product names throughout the speech. For example- We hope you BOUNCE for JOY when you marry MR. CLEAN. Marriage is a lot of work and you may have to use your ARM & HAMMER to get through the tough times but overall marriage will bring CHEER. (All the CAPITAL words are product names.) While giving the tribute- anytime a product name is said- pull out that product out of a bag. In the end, give the bride all the products.

Toilet paper Wedding Gown

Split party into 3-5 groups. Assign each group one category. Category ideas: Veil, Bodice, Skirt, Shoes, Sleeves, Jewelry, Bouquet, etc.
Give each group 1 roll of toilet paper and give them a time limit to create their section of the wedding dress on the bride.
This is very entertaining, especially when tape or string is not allowed. ?

Contests & Prizes

Makes the Bride’s Life Easier

As people come in, have a basket of blank Thank You notes with their envelopes in a basket. Have everyone take one and write their name and address on the cards. Later, when everyone is at the party, draw one of the Thank You notes and give a prize to the name on the envelope. This helps out the bride a lot and prevents wrong addresses.

Can You Count?

Fill a cute jar or container with chocolate, cookies, jelly beans, or whatever you want. Pass the jar around as people come in and have everyone write their guess of how much is in jar on a paper. After everyone has done this – find who was closest and give them the jar. ?

Hiding Groom

Gather several pictures of different men, one of which is the groom. Other than the groom’s picture the pictures could be found anywhere: magazines, newspaper, old family photos, etc. Put the pictures in balloons. Put one picture per balloon. Hand out the balloons to the guests and have them pop their balloon. Whoever gets the balloon with the groom’s picture in it, wins!

Old Apron Memory

Buy new kitchen items: spatula, wooden spoon, measuring spoons, potato peeler, juicer, etc. Find an old apron to pin all these items to. Give each guest pen and paper. Have the bride don the lavishly decorated apron for 2-3 minutes. Then the bride must leave the room while everybody writes down as many items as they can remember. Whoever remembers the most gets to pick one item off the apron and the rest go to the bride. If you had bought a new apron, that can go to the bride as well. ?

Tricky Memory Game

Fill a tray with various items: watch, peeler, pen, necklace, toy car, etc. Let the guests know that you are playing a memory game. Have the bride or the bride’s mother take the tray around and let everyone have a good look at it. After the tray is gone, ask everyone to write down what the carrier (bride or the bride’s mother) was wearing. This throws everyone off but it is fun to see who can actually remember. Whoever can remember the best, wins!

Icebreakers/Get to know you Games

What’s your name?

If there are a lot of people at the shower who don’t know each other, this game is a great way for everyone to learn each other’s names.
Everybody goes around the room and says their name but then continues with “When I grow up I want to be (a) ___,” the blank should be filled in with a word starting with the same letter as their first name. (My name is Mary and when I grow up I want to be married, My name is Sue and I want to be a Saxophonist, etc.) Everyone must repeat as many names as have been said.
Bridal Pictionary
Split the party into two groups and give each group whiteboards and markers or paper and pencils. Have cards with wedding words on them (cutting 3x5 cards in half and writing on these works great) in a box. Have each team drawer look at the same card and then start to draw at the same time. Team players try to guess the wedding word. Whichever team guesses first gets a point and the team with the most points in the end, wins!
Do you really know the Bride & Groom?
Hand out paper and pens to everyone. Then proceed to ask questions about the Bride & Groom. Whoever answers the most questions correctly, wins!
Suggested questions:
Where did the Bride and Groom meet? What is the Groom’s name? How did they get engaged? Where did they get engaged?

Gestures

Make a list of wedding related items. Then play charades with them. Split the party into two teams. Have a person from each team get up and start acting out the item on the card drawn. When one team has guessed, that turn is over and the guessing team gets the point. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.

Cutout the Groom

Give everyone a blank sheet of paper and tell them to hold the paper behind their backs. Now give a time limit and have everyone try to tear the paper so it looks like the groom (a man). After the time is up, let the Bride pick out the one that looks most like the Groom. The owner of the one she picks is the winner!
Another take on this game is to draw either the Groom or Bride but with their eyes closed and their pencil can never leave the paper. (Drawing in one continuous line.)
Kiss the Groom
Have a large picture or drawing of the groom on the wall. Blind fold each player and turn them around (as you would in pin the tail on the donkey). Put a Hershey’s Kiss in the players mouth (Just the point- and still wrapped) with tape on the end of the Kiss. The player must try to aim for the mouth (versus the tail in pin the tail on the donkey). Whoever gets closest to the groom’s mouth wins!
